Sylva Francová graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts and the Faculty of Education, Charles University in Prague. During her studies she completed internships at universities in the UK and the USA. She has received various awards or grants, such as the Hlávka Prize, winning the Portfolio Review 2007 in Bratislava, a grant from the Foundation for Contemporary Art or the Teacher Award for Contributing to the Development of Children’s Reading, etc. currently teaches at the Department of Art at the Faculty of Education, Charles University. She focuses on photography, authorial book creation, illustration or graphics. She lives and works in Prague.
