Born in Poland, she was raised in Germany, where she started her career in the art world at Galerie Eigen+Art, Leipzig/Berlin, moving further to the US to work at Pace Gallery and advise international art collectors. Johanna Chromik took over as Artistic Director of Vienna Contemporary as of January 15, 2019.
