Louise Beer and Alena Onishenko from PragArtWorks in Prague, Czech Republic are my guests. We discuss being an expat, using Social media, Glad handing and schmoozing, Instalment plans for buying art, artist studio envy, commissions, appreciation and manners, professionalism, addiction, Certificates of authenticity, and Prague as an emerging art market.
Prag Art Works is a showcase for a number of Czech Contemporary Artists whose work I most admire and I firmly believe should reach a wider audience.
I will feature artists from a large range of genres such as glass, sculpture, photography, collage and mixed media.
The plan is to stage a five group show in a new exhibition space in the centre of Prague for the month of October 2017.
I will be promoting 35 artists with great talent and diversity and the show will provide a dynamic platform for their work; all linking to the theme “United in Art”.
While many people are interested in acquiring Czech Art, they are often not sure where to look, this website was created in order to easily view the art and to navigate the site.
Founder and Director of Prag Art Works
Born and raised in Montreal (Canada), I have been an avid collector of contemporary art since my early twenties.
Having had a long career in the hotel business and working at the Montreal Convention Center enabled me to travel where I never missed the opportunity to visit local galleries, exhibition spaces and auction houses. I have acquired an expert knowledge of online art sales.
Since 2002, I have been living in Prague, making many friends among the cities artists, curators and gallery owners. Visiting galleries, sales rooms and ateliers throughout the Czech Republic has been my passion.
I have created this new wonderful opportunity to represent the following artists, get to know them better and help them sell their work.
I am looking forward to this new challenge and am excited about the new possibilities and initiatives planned in the coming months.
